Job summary

Hunkemöller in Hilversum is offering the Best Internship in Retail (BIIR) starting September 2026. You will join 50+ interns and gain hands-on experience in recruiting, candidate experience, and employer branding within our inspiring brand.

You will work 40 hours per week, be mentored by a buddy, and receive a monthly internship allowance of 450€ gross plus travel support. Fluent Dutch and English are required, and you should be studying HR, psychology, or a related field.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, HBO, or Master’s program, ideally in Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field.
• Fluent in both Dutch and English (written and spoken).
• Tech-savvy with an analytical mindset and a proactive approach.
• Fast learner, able to work with multiple tools; Excel, Workday and other talent platforms.
• Strong communication skills and comfortable taking initiative.
• Participation in extracurricular activities during studies or prior HR-related experience is a plus.
• Available for 40 hours per week.
• Please note: writing a thesis during this internship is not possible.

What will you do?

• Assist in hiring our new interns for the September 2026 "Best Internship in Retail" program
• Support the recruitment of new store employees who embody our brand values
• Be part of an exciting transformation in our candidate experience project
• Post, publish, and promote vacancies, ensuring the use of the most effective channels and the right tone of voice for each target audience
• Communicate daily with future talent through various channels to guide them toward their dream job within our inspiring brand
• Communicate with store managers, manage the recruitment inbox, and handle recruitment-related phone inquiries

About you!

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, HBO, or Master’s program, ideally in Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field

• Work From Home (WFH) Policy: For 40-hour internships, you are allowed to work from home up to 2 days per week, depending on the nature of your role. During onboarding, WFH days may vary to better support your learning and training.
• Internship Allowance: 450€ per month (gross) with 8+ holiday days (based on 40h/week).
• Travel Allowance: Max. 23€ per day (based on your travel distance), if you are not eligible for the free Student OV Chipcard.
• Additional Benefits: Access to 25% staff discount and a company laptop. Also, company gatherings like Townhalls and drinks.

Eligibility Criteria

For This Internship, You Need To Be Available For 5 Months Starting In September 2026. Please Note That Your Application Will Only Be Considered If You Are Enrolled At a School Or University For The Full Duration Of The Internship. Additionally, To Comply With Dutch Law, One Of The Following Must Apply

• You are an EU citizen,
• You are on a Family/Partner visa, or
• You are a non-EU student studying in the Netherlands, and you meet at least one of the following requirements: (1) The internship is a mandatory part of your curriculum, OR (2) your university is willing to sign a third-party agreement (Nuffic Agreement).
