Job summary

Hunkemöller invites you to join the Best Internship in Retail (BIIR) program starting February 2027. You’ll join 50+ interns in a structured experience combining finance, analytics and business training within an international environment.

You’ll support monthly closes, cost reporting and performance analysis while gaining hands-on exposure to budgeting, auditing, and financial processes. A 5‑month commitment is required with flexible WFH options and a strong student community.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a WO or HBO degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to numerical accuracy.
• Proficient in Excel and comfortable handling financial data.
• Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly and year-end closing processes.

• Contribute to monthly reporting and analysis of financial performance.

You’ll Be Responsible For

• Supporting the monthly and year-end closing processes.
• Supporting the year-end audit by gathering and preparing the required information and documentation.
• Assisting the Controlling team with monthly reporting and analysis of financial performance.
• Preparing and analyzing monthly cost reports, including actuals versus budget.
• Supporting initiatives to improve financial processes, reporting and data quality.
• Assisting the Controlling team with ad‑hoc financial analyses and projects.

What We’re Looking For

• WO or HBO student in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Good knowledge of Excel and an interest in working with financial data.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Accurate and numerate.
• Hands on and able to work towards deadlines.
• Curious, eager to learn and interested in understanding the business behind the numbers.
• Good communication skills and comfortable working in an international environment.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

• Internship Allowance: 450€ per month (gross) with 8+ holiday days (based on 40h/week).
• Travel Allowance: Max. 23€ per day (based on your travel distance), if you are not eligible for the free Student OV Chipcard.
• Additional Benefits: Access to 25% staff discount and a company laptop. Also, company gatherings like Townhalls and drinks.

Eligibility Criteria

For This Internship, You Need To Be Available For 5 Months Starting In February 2027. Please Note That Your Application Will Only Be Considered If You Are Enrolled At a School Or University For The Full Duration Of The Internship. Additionally, To Comply With Dutch Law, One Of The Following Must Apply

• You are an EU citizen,
• You are on a Family/Partner visa, or
• You are a non-EU student studying in the Netherlands, and you meet at least one of the following requirements: (1) The internship is a mandatory part of your curriculum, OR (2) your university is willing to sign a third‑party agreement (Nuffic Agreement).
