Job summary

Hunkemöller is offering the Best Internship in Retail (BIIR) program in Hilversum, starting February 2027. You will support ESG and sustainability initiatives, assist with audits, data analysis, and training development as part of a diverse internship cohort.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning, cross-functional collaboration, and exposure to supply chain compliance and reporting. The program includes an assigned buddy, WFH options for 40-hour weeks, a 450€ monthly gross allowance with holiday

Responsibilities

• Support in supply chain compliance audits and traceability.

Job description

What will you do?

• Providing support in supply chain compliance (social and environmental) e.g. audits, virtual factory tours, CAP management, supply chain traceability
• Providing support in developing ESG requirements, manuals and policies.
• Input and analyze ESG data and generate reports.
• Involved in handling day-to-day administrative items such as filtering emails, assembling, and distributing documents and materials.
• Assisting during meetings by synthesisng learnings
• Assisting in developing internal training on sustainability.
• Assisting in other ongoing sustainability projects.

About you!

• You’re currently enrolled in a Bachelors, Masters, or HBO+/WO studies in a relevant sustainability field (e.g. environmental science, human rights, etc.).
• You have an interest in sustainability topics, such as EU sustainability legislation, sustainable business practices, and supply chains. This may come from your studies, a previous internship within sustainability, or a general curiosity about the field.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• A pro‑active, enthusiastic, can‑do attitude and comfortable dealing with uncertainty
• Fluent spoken and written English. Dutch or an Asian language is an advantage.
• You are able to work at least 40h/week on internship responsibilities (no school assignments or thesis writing).
• No thesis is possible in this role.

• Work From Home (WFH) Policy: For 40-hour internships, you are allowed to work from home up to 2 days per week, depending on the nature of your role. During onboarding, WFH days may vary to better support your learning and training.
• Internship Allowance: 450€ per month (gross) with 8+ holiday days (based on 40h/week).
• Travel Allowance: Max. 23€ per day (based on your travel distance), if you are not eligible for the free Student OV Chipcard.
• Additional Benefits: Access to 25% staff discount and a company laptop. Also, company gatherings like Townhalls and drinks.

Eligibility Criteria

For This Internship, You Need To Be Available For 5 Months Starting In September 2026. Please Note That Your Application Will Only Be Considered If You Are Enrolled At a School Or University For The Full Duration Of The Internship. Additionally, To Comply With Dutch Law, One Of The Following Must Apply

• You are an EU citizen,
• You are on a Family/Partner visa, or
• You are a non-EU student studying in the Netherlands, and you meet at least one of the following requirements: (1) The internship is a mandatory part of your curriculum, OR (2) your university is willing to sign a third-party agreement (Nuffic Agreement).
