Job summary

Nearfield Instruments in Eindhoven seeks an Industrialization System Engineer to translate the overall system design into an architecture that meets critical industrialization requirements such as reliability, cycle time, availability, diagnostics and costs.

This role leads technical discussions among system engineers, architects, production engineers, program/project management and internal customers, influencing product design for high-volume manufacturing and improved field performance.

Qualifications

• Master or PhD in a technical field such as Electronic/Mechanical engineering, applied physics, chemistry or related.
• 8+ years in a high-tech product development environment with emphasis on reliability, availability, manufacturability and serviceability.
• At least 3 years in an Architect/System engineering role.
• Strong leadership with the ability to direct teams and projects.
• Ability to maintain a 'helicopter' view while discussing specialized topics with engineers.
• Willingness to travel between Eindhoven and Rotterdam (weekly).

Responsibilities

• Translate performance requirements to industrialization specifications and conduct pre-feasibility studies.
• Set and align system-level KPIs related to Availability, Reliability, Serviceability, Diagnostics, Cycle time and Costs.
• Verify and validate industrialization requirements within budgets in conceptual and detailed designs, incorporating feedback from Field and Factory.
• Proactively gather field data from supply chain, equipment, quality, manufacturing engineers and field data to define improvement proposals.
• Create data-based models to predict performance on cycle time, costs, availability and other KPIs.
• Develop and maintain a quantified Industrialization roadmap and drive its execution.
