The role emphasizes swift, accurate responses to inquiries for import/export, preparing quotations, and maintaining compliant documentation while building strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• No relevant work experience required; experience in shipping, sales, or customer service is a plus.
• Solid understanding of shipping processes and terminology.
• Good English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Commercial acumen and customer-focused approach.
• Good communication, networking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• A proactive and innovative mindset.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Japanese communication skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be the go-to person for Japanese customers, providing exceptional support and building strong relationships.
• Respond swiftly and accurately to customer inquiries, both for import and export.
• Prepare and deliver competitive quotations, negotiating prices to secure the best cargo mix and achieve targets.
• Manage rate filings and ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant.
• Proactively monitor vessel schedules and keep customers informed.
• Track customer performance, addressing any issues to ensure smooth operations.
• Identify and research potential new customers, both Japanese and non-Japanese.
• Provide administrative support to the Outside Sales team.
