Job summary

Ocean Network Express seeks an Inside Sales Coordinator to serve as the primary contact for our Japanese customers and to support the Outside Sales team in converting inquiries into bookings.

You will respond to import/export inquiries, prepare quotations, manage rate filings, monitor vessel schedules, and research potential new customers, while collaborating with a Rotterdam-based team.

Qualifications

• No relevant work experience required; shipping, sales or customer service experience is a plus.
• Solid understanding of shipping processes and terminology.
• Good English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Commercial acumen and customer-focused approach.
• Good communication, networking and problem-solving abilities.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• Proactive and innovative mindset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Japanese communication skills are a plus.

• Respond swiftly and accurately to customer inquiries, both for import and export.
• Prepare and deliver competitive quotations, negotiating prices to secure the best cargo mix and achieve targets.

• Track customer performance, addressing any issues to ensure smooth operations.
• Identify and research potential new customers, both Japanese and non-Japanese.
• Provide administrative support to the Outside Sales team.
