Job summary

Nebius, headquartered in Amsterdam, is building a full-stack AI cloud platform and data-center infrastructure for global AI workloads. The Electrical Design Engineer will design and review HV/MV power systems for new data centers across EMEA, coordinating with mechanical, network, and civil teams to deliver safe, scalable power solutions.

You will own design criteria, diagrams, load schedules, and equipment specs, while ensuring compliance with IEC/EN standards and Nebius requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years electrical design experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Strong practical knowledge of HV and MV distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, protection, earthing.
• Experience producing or reviewing construction-ready electrical design documentation and technical specifications.
• Good understanding of UPS systems, LV distribution and interaction with IT loads.
• Working knowledge of IEC and EN standards and ability to interpret local codes across EMEA.
• Experience with power-system analysis software such as ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, SKM.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel across EMEA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review electrical designs for data center builds and upgrades across EMEA.
• Own HV and MV design inputs from utility connection through substations and switchgear.
• Produce and review design criteria, single-line diagrams, load schedules, equipment specs and design basis documents.
• Evaluate power capacity, redundancy and distribution strategies for high-density AI environments.
• Review technical submissions from design consultants, partners, contractors and vendors for gaps and risks.
• Coordinate electrical design with mechanical, controls, network, hardware, civil and architectural workstreams to ensure a buildable solution.
• Support equipment strategy and selection for transformers, MV/LV switchgear, UPS, generators, busway and protection systems.
• Lead or review power-system studies (load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, arc-flash, earthing).
• Ensure design compliance with IEC/EN standards, local grid requirements and Nebius standards.
• Support procurement, FAT/SAT, site queries, commissioning and final handover to operations.
• Capture lessons learned and contribute to repeatable reference designs and playbooks.
