Job summary

QCS Staffing Ltd seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to join a team near Amsterdam, focusing on power infrastructure for AI data centres across EMEA. You will lead from concept through to commissioning, owning HV and MV design inputs and delivering robust criteria, diagrams, and schedules.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and extensive data centre experience, with knowledge of UPS, LV distribution, and IEC/EN standards.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive electrical design experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of HV and MV distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, protection, earthing.
• Understanding of UPS systems, generators, LV distribution.
• Working knowledge of IEC and EN standards.

• Focus from early concept and site development through detailed design, construction, commissioning and operational handover, plus expansions and upgrades.
• Own HV and MV design inputs.
• Produce and review design criteria, diagrams, schedules, and related documentation.
• Evaluate power capacity, redundancy and distribution strategies.

What you’ll need:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Extensive electrical design experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, utilities or large industrial environments.
• Strong practical knowledge of HV and MV distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, earthing and utility interconnection.
• A solid understanding of UPS systems, generators, LV distribution.
• Working knowledge of relevant IEC and EN standards.
