Job summary

Nebius is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to shape the mechanical infrastructure for data centre developments in Amsterdam. You will contribute from concept through commissioning, developing practical, scalable cooling solutions for high-density computing environments and collaborating with electrical, IT, and external partners.

You will influence design standards, ensure system performance, and help deliver operating facilities with a focus on energy and water efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review mechanical designs for new data centres, expansions and upgrades.
• Produce cooling calculations, equipment specs, schematics and design documentation.
• Evaluate cooling systems including chillers, pumps and heat exchangers.
• Support liquid cooling interfaces with facility and IT equipment.
• Assess capacity, redundancy and maintainability under operations and failures.
• Coordinate with electrical/structural/controls teams on airflow and plant-space needs.
• Review consultant designs and contractor proposals, resolve technical queries during procurement.
• Support site assessments, installation reviews and commissioning to verify design compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve energy and water efficiency and standardise designs.
