Octatube is seeking an HSE & Compliance Officer to help ensure UK and Dutch safety and compliance across our architectural projects. You'll build a knowledge platform, translate regulations into practical guidance, and support ISO 45001 management.

In this role, you will ensure that knowledge of legislation and compliance requirements is accessible, practical and easy for colleagues to apply. You will contribute to the development of our knowledge management framework and ISO 45001 management system, translate regulatory developments into practical guidance, and help implement training, procedures, and knowledge sharing resources across the organisation.
You will work closely with our policy officer, project managers, engineers, designers and other specialists within our Design & Build organisation. Together, you will help ensure that innovative architectural projects are delivered safely, compliantly and in a future-proof manner.

Build and maintain a knowledge platform that gives colleagues quick access to relevant regulatory information and compliance resources for key topics like health and safety.
Develop and organise training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives on HSE and compliance topics for teams across the business.
Identify recurring risks and opportunities for improvement and contribute to the ongoing development of our ISO 45001 management system.
Research UK and Dutch legislation and regulatory requirements and help translate complex obligations into practical tools and guidance for colleagues.
Support the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, working methods and other compliance-related documentation.
Help coordinate documentation and evidence required for certifications such as Constructionline Gold and SSIP.
Monitor developments in UK health, safety and environmental legislation and ensure relevant knowledge is shared throughout the organisation.
Help shape a growing team and contribute to new initiatives in safety, compliance and knowledge management.
A Master's degree in a relevant discipline, such as Law, Safety Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Sustainability or Governance, or a Bachelor's degree combined with 1-2 years of relevant professional experience.
Strong research skills and the ability to quickly understand and navigate regulatory frameworks.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills combined with a structured, proactive approach to work and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working with colleagues from different disciplines.
Confidence using Microsoft Office, SharePoint and document management systems.
A valid EU work permit.
An interest in the construction, engineering or architectural sector.
Knowledge of health, safety or environmental management systems.
Familiarity with UK and/or Dutch health, safety or environmental legislation.
Dutch language skills at a minimum of B2 level.
A gross monthly salary between €3,351 and €4,449, depending on your knowledge and experience.
