Octatube is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to embed quality from design through execution on international projects. You’ll be the main quality contact across multiple projects, translating client and contract needs into practical quality plans and coordinating inspections to ensure complete dossiers.

With a degree in engineering, you will coordinate with project teams, suppliers and colleagues, applying relevant standards in an international context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience coordinating quality across projects in engineering environments.
• Familiarity with applying international quality standards.

Responsabilités

• Take substantive ownership of the quality approach within projects (≈70%).
• Coordinate quality inspections, tests and assessments and report results.
• Prepare, review and discuss inspection reports with project teams.
• Deliver a complete quality dossier aligned with client and project requirements.

As an experienced Quality Engineer at Octatube, you work on (international) construction projects where quality is embedded in both design and execution. With your coordinating strength, knowledge and experience, you also help elevate our Quality Team to the next level—ready for future projects and quality standards.

Our projects are unique, technically complex and often international. This requires quality to be carefully considered and well organised from the very start. At Octatube, quality is not an after-the-fact check, but an integral part of every project—and as an experienced Quality Engineer, you play a key role in this.

From project kick-off through to handover, you are the substantive point of contact for quality across multiple (inter)national projects. Together with project managers, engineers and suppliers, you translate client, contract and project requirements into a practical quality approach that helps project teams move forward. You apply your knowledge, experience and affinity with relevant national and international standards in a pragmatic way.

You coordinate quality inspections, carry out checks where required, identify risks, help set priorities and ensure that deviations are properly followed up.

You work with materials such as timber, steel, glass and coatings, and you ensure a complete and well-substantiated quality dossier. In addition, you act as an approachable sparring partner for project teams, advising colleagues in engineering, project management, production and installation on quality-related matters.

On average, one day per week is dedicated to the substantive coordination and further professionalisation of our Quality team.

What you'll do

• Help take the Quality team to the next level by sharing knowledge, improving ways of working and contributing to further professionalisation (approx. 30% of your time).

• Define the quality structure, inspection planning and required documentation per project.
• Coordinate quality inspections, tests and assessments, and clearly report back on results.
• Carry out (sample-based) inspections yourself based on project requirements and relevant standards.
• Prepare, review and discuss inspection reports with project teams.
• Deliver a complete and well-substantiated quality dossier in line with client and (international) project requirements.
• Identify, align on and, where necessary, mitigate quality risks.
• Advise on quality within design, engineering, procurement and execution.
• Coordinate with suppliers and external parties, including product inspections and documentation.

What you'll bring

• A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
• Motivation to coordinate and support colleagues by sharing knowledge.
• Relevant work experience as a (Project) Quality Engineer in a project-based and/or engineering environment.
• Strong technical insight and the ability to assess quality in relation to design, procurement and execution.
• Affinity with applying and interpreting relevant standards and quality frameworks—preferably also in an international context.
• A structured and analytical way of working, with the ability to set priorities.
• A hands-on mindset combined with an eye for the bigger picture and end result.
• A customer-oriented attitude and a strong sense of service, without compromising on quality.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Good command of Dutch and English, or willingness to learn Dutch.
• A valid category B driving licence and willingness to visit project sites and suppliers.
• A valid EU working permit.

What you'll get

• A gross monthly salary between €3.990- €5.352. We are happy to match this to your knowledge and experience.
