Octatube Services works on existing structures and façade systems, whether originally delivered by Octatube or by other contractors. This may involve maintenance and repairs, as well as renovations and modifications. As a Services Project Manager, you make sure that the solution agreed with the client is delivered properly and efficiently. You will work in a diverse team of project managers, sales colleagues and installation specialists. The team meets weekly, and you will be willing to support colleagues in other roles during busy periods.
You will manage several projects simultaneously, keeping a close eye on schedules, progress, budgets, quality and safety. You will bring together all the disciplines involved in delivery, from technical designers and production teams to installation crews, suppliers and subcontractors. You will prepare project schedules, monitor agreements and risks, and make sure everyone knows what is expected of them and when.
Managing several projects at once means you need to be able to switch quickly between priorities. You will weigh up technical, organisational and commercial considerations and independently find suitable solutions when challenges arise. In making these decisions, you will take account of contractual agreements, project requirements and applicable health and safety guidelines. As much of the work takes place in buildings that remain in use, you will also consider the needs of building users and aim to minimise disruption wherever possible.
During delivery, you will be the client’s main point of contact. You will keep them informed of progress, discuss any deviations or risks, and ensure that each project is properly completed and followed up. In doing so, you will not only contribute to a successful project outcome, but also build a strong and lasting relationship with the client.
The role also has a commercial element. If you identify additional client needs or opportunities for follow‑on work during a project, you will discuss these with the Sales Manager in the Services team. You will prepare budgets, cost estimates and technical proposals for both additional work and new projects, actively contributing to the commercial success of Services.
This role combines engineering and project management with client contact and commercial awareness.
Manage several service, maintenance, renovation and modification projects simultaneously.
Prepare project schedules and monitor progress, scope, quality, budgets, completion dates and risks, taking action where necessary.
Coordinate collaboration between engineering, production, installation, suppliers and subcontractors, while acting as the main point of contact for clients, building managers and other stakeholders.
Assess technical solutions for feasibility and practicality, and coordinate any necessary changes with engineering.
Monitor contractual agreements and obligations, keep track of the financial performance of your projects, and manage variations and additional work.
Organise safe project delivery in accordance with applicable legislation and regulations, prepare work plans and health and safety documentation, and monitor quality, progress and safety on site.
Visit project sites regularly for coordination, inspections and handovers.
Take a commercial approach, identify additional client needs and follow‑on opportunities, and discuss these with a Sales Manager within the team.
Support project sales by preparing technical advice and commercial proposals.
You have at least a degree‑level standard of working and thinking.
You have at least three years’ experience managing or coordinating technical or construction projects, for example as a project manager, work planner or project coordinator.
You have a technical background and knowledge of façades, glass and/or building structures.
You have an interest in the construction and/or façade industry.
You can organise several projects alongside one another while maintaining a clear overview.
You can weigh up technical, organisational and commercial interests.
You communicate easily with clients, colleagues and site teams, while remaining mindful of client satisfaction and good working relationships.
You work independently, take initiative and look for practical solutions.
You are cost‑conscious and quality‑focused.
You have a good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
You have a valid right to work in the EU.
Comfortable travel to our office through our cycle scheme, an NS public transport card or a mileage allowance.
Extensive learning and development opportunities.
No performance ratings, but automatic salary progression within the same salary band.
An international project environment in which you work alongside specialists from a range of disciplines who are keen to share their knowledge.
Plenty of scope to take initiative, contribute your own ideas and take responsibility from day one.
“At Services, you do not always know exactly what you will encounter beforehand. That is when you need to respond quickly and work together to find a solution that is technically sound as well as practical to deliver. Moving between engineering, the client and delivery is what makes my work interesting.”
In addition to your daily emails, tasks and calls with, for example, Octatubers from your project team, your working week looks something like this.
As a Services Project Manager, you will have a high degree of independence within your own projects. As your experience grows, you can take on increasingly complex and larger service and renovation projects and develop further in a technical, commercial or project management direction. There is plenty of room to show initiative and demonstrate what you can do. And why stop learning? Challenge yourself and shape your own development path. Develop your talents in a direction that suits both you and Octatube. Work with your Octa Coach and make use of the available learning and training opportunities.
