Job summary

Basic-Fit is seeking a HRIS Business Solution Lead - Workforce to own absence management, time tracking and scheduling within Workday. You translate local HR needs into scalable system requirements and guide international teams toward standardized, compliant solutions while respecting country differences.

You collaborate with the HRIS Product Manager and Tech Lead to align functional designs with the broader architecture, driving end-to-end process improvements so employees can use HRIS tools

• HHands-on HRIS architectural depth; Workday experience preferred.
• Track record of end-to-end HR process improvements.
• Strong stakeholder management with international teams and works councils.
• Experience with frontline organisations (retail or hospitality).
• Fluent English; Dutch/French/Spanish/German a plus.

This Is What Your Role Looks Like

At Basic-Fit, you are the dedicated functional expert and owner of the Workforce HRIS sub-domain: absence management, time tracking and scheduling. You understand both the intricate daily needs of local HR teams and the capabilities of our HRIS (Workday).

Your mission is to work backward from complex business problems to define true end-to-end needs. By acting as the bridge between local needs and scalable system design, you ensure that employees effectively use HRIS technology to do their work smoothly.

Your Responsibilities

• Consultative Requirements Engineering: Practice the “five whys” to unpack requests from local HR and works councils. Separate the underlying business need from the assumed system solution (ensuring SMEs state their needs and constraints, not just a Workday setup) without alienating stakeholders.
• On-the-Ground Discovery: “Look over the shoulder” of local HR teams and end-users to catch operational edge cases early and deeply understand daily friction points.
• Solution Design & Workshops: Lead "Adopt-vs-adapt" workshops. Demonstrate standard/vanilla Workday functionalities first to drive standardization, deepening to specific country customizations when needed.
• Sub-domain Architectural Ownership: Maintain deep, hands-on functional knowledge of the Workforce sub-domain – absence management, time tracking and scheduling. Define precise requirements and oversee implementation by internal, external, on-, or offshore team members.
• Multi-lever Problem Solving: Partner with the cross-domain HRIS Product Manager and Tech Lead to align your functional solution choices with the broader system architecture.

Additionally, We’re Looking For Someone Who Is

• Hands-on HRIS architectural depth and functional capability. Workday experience is preferred.
• A track record of persistent, analytical goal-getting and end-to-end HR process improvement.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of delivering consultative pushback to diverse international teams and works councils.
• Experience with organizations with significant frontline personnel – e.g. retail or hospitality.
• Fluent English; Dutch, French, Spanish, or German is a plus.
