Job summary

Urban Gym Group is seeking an HR Assistant in Amsterdam for a 7-month maternity cover. You will handle day-to-day HR operations, contracts for new starters and payroll data in Rippling, ensuring accuracy and timely communication.

You’ll work closely with the HR team, maintain confidential records, assist employees with questions, and help with benefits, travel, expenses, and HR projects, all while applying Dutch employment law.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage full employee lifecycle administration (contracts, changes, leavers) and keep Rippling updated

As our HR Assistant, you'll be the engine behind our day-to-day HR operations. No two weeks look the same: one day you're preparing contracts for new starters, the next you're helping a colleague with a question about their leave or making sure payroll has exactly what it needs. You'll work closely with the HR team to give our people a smooth, accurate and friendly HR experience, in line with Dutch employment law.

What you'll do

• Manage the full employee lifecycle administration, from new starters to leavers. This covers preparing employment contracts, processing contract changes and producing leaver documentation, while making sure all communication goes out on time and Rippling is updated promptly and accurately
• Keep personnel records organised, accurate and confidential
• Be a first point of contact for employee questions about HR matters
• Support payroll with accurate, timely information on absence, sickness, leave and working schedules
• Handle benefits administration
• Arrange travel and process expense claims
• Contribute to HR projects that improve how we work

You

• Have exceptional attention to detail, so everything you input, from contracts to system updates, is accurate first time
• Have 1-2 years' experience in an HR or administrative role (or you're a recent HR graduate ready to put theory into practice)
• Are highly organised and can juggle multiple priorities, knowing what needs doing first
• Handle confidential information with discretion
• Communicate clearly and warmly, in writing and in person
• Are comfortable with HR systems and Excel, and quick to learn new tools
• Have a basic understanding of Dutch employment law, or a strong interest in building it
• Speak and write fluent English and Dutch
• Bonus: you love fitness, or at least love working in a fast-paced, people-focused business
