We are looking for a Group Data, Analytics & AI Lead - based in Amsterdam
About One Frio
One Frio is a young and fast-growing PE-backed organisation in temperature-controlled food logistics, formed through the combination of several strong family businesses in the Netherlands and Ireland — including Grolleman Coldstore Group, Nedcool, Coenen Boxmeer, and McCulla (Ireland). Operating through a HoldCo structure with multiple semi-autonomous Operating Companies (OpCos), we are in an active phase of acquisition, integration, and operational scaling across the cold chain sector.
Our Group IT function is being built from the ground up, making this a high-growth environment where the right people can genuinely shape the function.
About the role
This is a newly created, senior central role within the Group IT function, offering a genuine opportunity to shape One Frio's data and analytics strategy at a critical stage of the Group's growth. As Group Data, Analytics & AI Lead, you will be the internal owner of One Frio's enterprise data and analytics capability, responsible for delivering, governing, and evolving our Microsoft Fabric-based platform that provides Group-wide visibility across all OpCos and business functions.
This is a hands‑on delivery role with genuine strategic scope. You will work closely with the Group IT Director, external vendors, and OpCo IT Leads — governing delivery, contributing directly to architecture decisions, and ensuring outputs are fit for purpose. There is no team to manage from day one; you must be equally comfortable setting direction and doing the work.
Your responsibilities
Data & Analytics Platform
- Own the Microsoft Fabric platform end-to-end — architecture, standards, quality, and outcomes
- Govern the external implementation vendor: milestone accountability, delivery quality, and knowledge transfer
- Deliver the full data layering architecture (Raw - Curated - Semantic) across all OpCos, including Group-level harmonisation and consolidated reporting
- Lead KPI Definition Workshops with Finance, Operations, Commercial, Customer, and HR stakeholders
AI Readiness & Governance
- Embed AI-readiness into the Semantic layer from the outset — naming, measure descriptions, and KPI logic designed for reliable AI-powered querying
- Identify and prioritise high-value AI use cases across the Group and develop a pragmatic, phased adoption roadmap
- Own the Group data governance framework — data ownership, lineage, business glossaries, and GDPR/NIS2 compliance across all OpCos and domains
Stakeholder Engagement & M&A
- Report directly to the Group IT Director; engage regularly with the CFO and C‑Suite on platform progress and data strategy
- Support M&A integration from a data perspective — pipeline onboarding, governance assessment, and platform scalability for newly acquired OpCos
What we are looking for
Experience
- 4–8 years of hands‑on experience in data engineering, analytics platform delivery, or enterprise data management — ideally in multi‑entity or multi‑site environments
- Proven end‑to‑end platform delivery: ingestion, data modelling, semantic layer, reporting, and governance
- Demonstrable hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Power BI — building and owning data models, semantic layers, and governed reporting environments
- Experience managing external vendors: reviewing delivery, holding partners accountable, maintaining quality standards
- Background in supply chain, logistics, or complex operational environments is desirable; PE-backed or acquisitive environment experience is a meaningful advantage
Technical Skills
- Microsoft Fabric — workspaces, pipelines, Lakehouse architecture, data layering
- Data modelling — fact/dimension design, data contracts, cross‑entity harmonisation
- Microsoft Purview — data cataloguing, lineage, and business glossary management
- AI tooling awareness — Microsoft Copilot for Power BI, Azure OpenAI, or LLM‑based analytics tools
- GDPR and data compliance — working knowledge as it applies to data storage, retention, and platform governance
What you can expect
- A lean, high‑ownership environment — impact is real, visible, and recognised at the most senior levels
- Direct working relationship with the Group IT Director from day one, with C‑Suite access and sponsorship
- A genuinely broad mandate: Finance, Operations, Commercial, Customer, HR — all Group data flows through this role
- An active M&A environment — new OpCos will be acquired and you will play a key role in their data onboarding
- Real scope to grow — as the Group scales, this role has natural trajectory toward expanded responsibility and team leadership
If you are a data platform professional who thrives in hands‑on, high-ownership environments and wants to build something that matters at Group level — we'd love to hear from you.
