• Optimise platform cost and performance, including workload attribution.

The Role

• Lead, coach and develop a team of analytics and data engineers, setting clear standards and fostering growth
• Own end-to-end data platform delivery including ingestion pipelines, data modelling and warehouse orchestration
• Design scalable, well-structured data models aligned to business concepts and usage
• Establish and govern a robust semantic layer to ensure consistency in metrics and definitions
• Drive engineering best practices including CI/CD, version control, testing and code quality
• Ensure data reliability through monitoring, alerting, incident management and proactive improvements
• Optimise platform cost and performance, including workload attribution and query efficiency
• Partner with stakeholders across analytics, product and leadership to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Communicate platform strategy, risks and trade-offs clearly to senior stakeholders

Your Skills & Experience

• Strong experience leading data or analytics engineering teams in a hands-on environment
• Deep expertise in data warehousing, data modelling and large-scale data platforms
• Proven capability in ELT or ETL design, pipeline orchestration and tooling such as Airflow or dbt
• Experience working with modern cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks or GCP
• Strong understanding of data quality, observability, testing and data contracts
• Experience implementing CI/CD and software engineering best practices within data teams
• Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with technical depth and delivery ownership
• Confident communicator, able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
