Job summary

NewCold Melbourne is seeking a Global Quality Control & Assurance Manager to redefine, implement and manage QA/QC across our development organization and worldwide projects.

You will lead QAQC staff on site, drive processes from design to handover, and report KPIs to management while partnering with project directors to elevate quality culture across Breda head office and international sites.

Willingness to travel internationally and fluency in English are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant construction project experience.
• Strong background in Quality Management; experience setting up QA processes from scratch.
• Willing to travel internationally.
• Willing to work 80% at Breda head office, with travel.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders.
• Self-starter and team leader with strong leadership abilities.
• Experience with HSE is a plus.

About the vacancy

To support our further worldwide growth and our corporate structure, we are looking qualified candidate to lead our Quality Control & Assurance programme in harmony with our Development Organisation.

This individual shall possess all skills & experience to redefine, implement and manage the NewCold QAQC processes within the NewCold development organization. The Development Organisation is responsible for the planning, design and realisation of our cold stores worldwide, from concept design to final commissioning and handover to the internal client, NewCold Operations.

Our projects are typically realised by a combination of one general contractor and several specialist (direct appointed) contractors such as for racking, cooling, material handling equipment and so forth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the field of Quality Assurance in a similar role either for an end user or for a contractor with a proven history of both self-drive and successful team management.

The goal is to ensure that worldwide our projects are consistently and systematically delivered in line with the quality standards as set out by NewCold, including documentation supporting this.

This role reports to the Head of Global PSO.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluate current QA/QC standards and processes along with the NewCold way of working.
• Set up quality management processes to guarantee compliant delivery of our projects.
• Communicate and implement these processes.
• Functionally responsible for the staff implementing the quality process on site.
• Audit the adherence to the process on our sites worldwide.
• Assist the project staff in reviewing QAQC documentation issued to NewCold for approval.
• Assist and advise in recruitment / selection of project staff related to QAQC.
• Assist in preparing the content of the quality standards that govern our projects.
• Report on a frequent basis to management typical quality related KPIs.
• Work closely together with the project directors / construction managers to improve the quality culture in the projects

Who are we looking for?

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience related to construction projects.
• Evidence of a strong background in Quality Management, and preferably in setting up QA processes from scratch.
• Willing to be travel internationally.
• Willing to work 80% in the head office in Breda, apart from travelling.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment.
• Proficient in English, verbally and in writing.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Excellent skills in demonstrating to stakeholders the importance and benefits of implementing a robust QAQC process.
• Self-starter and a team player with strong leadership abilities.
• A big ‘plus’ is having experience with HSE related matters.
