APL Logistics is expanding its Amsterdam warehouse and seeks a General Manager to own and develop the new operation, driving performance, efficiency, and service delivery. You will lead a fast-growing site with a focus on Lean principles and continuous improvement.

The role requires a results-driven leader with significant 3PL warehousing and leadership experience, strong financial skills, and the ability to build high-performing teams.

Competenze

• Proven experience in warehouse start-up or transformation projects.
• 7+ years in 3PL warehousing with 3+ years in leadership.
• Strong financial acumen with budgets and P&L reporting.
• Hands-on leadership and team-building capabilities.

In May 2026, we opened our new distribution center in Amsterdam. We are currently building up our operations and are looking for colleagues who want to grow with us. From this location, we support the logistics processes of an international fashion brand.

We’re looking for a colleague to join our Amsterdam warehouse team in the position of General Manager. In this role, you will take ownership of and further develop our newly established warehouse operation in Amsterdam, ensuring outstanding performance, efficiency, and service delivery. • Build and structure a high-performing team through recruitment, onboarding, and training
• Manage all aspects of warehouse operations, including labor planning, customer service, and financial performance
• Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards while applying Lean/5S methodologies
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure service levels meet or exceed expectations
• Monitor KPIs and financial metrics to drive profitability and operational efficiency

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

• Proven experience in warehouse start-up or transformation projects
• Minimum 7 years of experience in 3PL warehousing and 3+ years in a leadership role
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and P&L reporting
• Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with a hands‑on approach
• Deep understanding of logistics operations, warehouse systems, and continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS); Manhattan WMi experience is a plus
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with a clear focus on results
