Job summary

NTU International A/S is preparing a proposal for a Technical Assistance project focused on sustainable forest management, climate change and biodiversity in Papua New Guinea and the Pacific region.

The Non-Key Expert will support multi-disciplinary technical assistance activities, contribute to reports, and work with national authorities and development partners to enhance environmental sustainability across project workstreams.

Qualifications

• University degree, preferably at postgraduate level, in forestry, environmental sciences, natural resources management, biodiversity conservation, ecology, climate change, environmental management, or a related discipline.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including proven ability to draft high-quality documents and reports and communicate ideas in a culturally sensitive context.
• Strong knowledge of forestry, climate change, biodiversity and/or natural resources management, preferably contextualised to Papua New Guinea and the Pacific region.
• Ability to work independently as well as effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
• Depending on the assignment, willingness and ability to travel internationally and locally, including to remote areas.

• Biodiversity conservation and ecosystem management.

• Nature-based solutions and ecosystem-based approaches.
• Sustainable land and natural resources management.
• Environmental and climate policy, programming and institutional strengthening.
• Preparation, implementation, monitoring and/or evaluation of environment and climate-related programmes.
