Job summary

ThunderSoft is seeking a proactive Facility Engineer to support IDC operations in the Netherlands. The role focuses on ensuring power, HVAC, and low-voltage systems are stable, secure, and available, with on-site responsibilities and incident response.

Job description

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Facility Engineer to join our IDC (Internet Data Center) operations team. In this role, you will help ensure the stability, availability, and security of critical data center infrastructure, including power supply, HVAC, and low-voltage electrical systems. You will perform on-site duties, respond to incidents promptly, and contribute to continuous improvement in operational efficiency.

On-Site Duty & Emergency Response

• Perform 5×8 on-site duties at the IDC as per client requirements.
• Arrive on-site promptly outside working hours in accordance with IT operations incident management guidelines.

Infrastructure Monitoring & Data Accuracy

• Update and maintain infrastructure information with 100% accuracy.
• Regularly check platform alarm settings and monitor system availability and stability.

Facility Inspection & Maintenance

• Conduct facility inspections in line with the client's requirements (Alibaba), including facility status checks, maintenance/repair MOP (Method of Procedure) review, and follow-up.
• Respond quickly and arrive on-site according to IT operations incident management guidelines.
• Handle incidents promptly following EOP (Emergency Operation Procedure) and report them accordingly.

Infrastructure Fault Diagnosis

• Maintain a strong understanding of IDC infrastructure, including power supply, HVAC, and low-voltage electrical systems.
• Quickly locate faults and restore services in the event of an incident.

Operational Efficiency

• Apply knowledge of infrastructure monitoring, capacity management, security management, and availability management to improve operational efficiency.

Change Management

• Independently create and implement change MOPs, ensuring no incidents occur due to operational changes.

Additional Duties

• Complete other tasks as outlined in the Service Contract, Outsourcing Requirement Specification, and related attachments.

Qualifications

Educational Background

• Full-time associate degree or equivalent and above.
• Preferred major: Electrical Engineering, HVAC, or related fields.

Work Experience

• At least 1 year of relevant industry experience.
• Basic knowledge of infrastructure and IDC operations.
