Job summary

NewPort Tank Containers seeks a proactive logistics coordinator to be the primary contact for customers, coordinating order handling from start to finish. You will monitor documentation, guide actions with KPIs, and ensure smooth operations across planning, trucking, imports/exports, and safety protocols.

You will collaborate with internal teams and international partners to resolve issues, optimize workflows, and maintain strong communication with customers and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• You have an English fluency; additional languages are a plus.
• You are available full-time (32 or 36 hours per week options discussed).
• You have strong organization and can oversee multiple processes simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Are you a strong communicator and natural coordinator with a passion for logistics? Do you make sure everything runs smoothly for your customers? Then we are looking for you!

You will be the first point of contact for our customers and ensure that their logistics processes run smoothly. You monitor and coordinate order handling from A to Z and keep all parties involved informed throughout the process. You check documentation for completeness and accuracy and monitor the operational process, using KPIs to guide your actions.

At NewPort Tank Containers, we specialise in the international transportation of chemical liquids, food products and gases in tank containers. With offices around the world and an extensive network of agents, we are one of the largest players in our industry.

What your day could look like

• You start your day with a fresh cup of coffee. Focused and ready to go, you sit down at your desk and review your ongoing transports and priorities. Before you even have a chance to open your inbox, an urgent request comes in: a customer wants an update on an express delivery. You immediately contact your colleagues in truck planning, verify the delivery status and update the customer.
• During the morning, you and your team have a brainstorming session about how to optimise the order processing workflow. Different ideas for working more efficiently are exchanged, and you find yourself energised by the discussion.
• Just as you are about to start working out some of those ideas, the phone rings. There is a leak in one of our tank containers. You do not hesitate. You inform the appropriate colleagues, check the contents of the tank container and ensure that all safety protocols are followed. For a moment, the situation looks serious, but fortunately the damage turns out to be limited. Thanks to your quick response, the impact remains minimal and the transport can continue with only a minor delay.
• Time for lunch. Together with your colleagues, you enjoy a relaxed break, play a game of table football or take a short walk to clear your head.
• In the afternoon, you have a meeting with a customer regarding import documentation. You review the required documents and advise the customer on the next steps. You discover that the Bill of Lading is missing. You quickly coordinate with your international colleagues to make sure the tank can be imported without delay.
• Before wrapping up for the day, you stop by the Product Specialist and then visit the Tank Planning team. One of the customers in your portfolio, Stof BV, transports highly toxic substances and will soon be adding a new hazardous substance. Together, you discuss the safest and most efficient way to transport it. You exchange ideas and arrive at a suitable solution for the customer. Satisfied with the day’s work, you close your laptop. Tomorrow is another day!

What are we looking for in you?

• You are fluent in English. Do you speak any additional languages? That is definitely a plus!
• We are looking for someone who is available full-time. Are you available for 32 or 36 hours per week? We would be happy to discuss the possibilities with you.
• Whether you are just starting your career or already have some professional experience, we would like to get to know you. We are happy to explore how we can support your development, while your fresh perspective can help us continue improving our processes.
• You have at least an MBO-4 or HBO level of professional and intellectual ability, although we consider a positive attitude and strong commitment to be even more important.
• You work accurately, are well organised and are able to maintain a clear overview of several ongoing processes at the same time.
• You have a proactive mindset and recognise and seize opportunities to improve processes.
• You enjoy working as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues, customers and external partners.

What does NewPort offer you?

• A salary between €2,600 and €4,500 per month, depending on your experience.
• A travel allowance and a pension scheme for which we pay two-thirds of the contribution.
• 24 days of annual leave and 3.5 ADV days.
