As a developer within the Bezoek Schip team, you will design, build, test, and deliver software that enables the seamless coordination of vessel calls in Dutch ports. Our digital services connect shipping agents, terminals, and port authorities, ensuring that all critical information flows securely and efficiently.
You will take ownership of frontend solutions while also contributing to backend development, like shaping APIs, ensuring data quality, and delivering reliable full-stack functionality. You are a Full Stack Developer who values well‑structured, maintainable code and a high‑quality user experience. You know Angular and TypeScript thoroughly, and you’re curious to explore technologies such as Kotlin, Terraform, and AWS.
A key focus area for the team is the implementation of the European Maritime Single Window environment (EMSWe), a major European initiative that harmonizes how maritime data is shared between member states. You will play a pivotal role in integrating Portbase systems with this new standard, contributing to the future of digital port operations.
Whether or not you already have experience in the logistics or maritime domain, what matters most is your curiosity, technical craftsmanship, and drive to build software that makes a real difference in the logistics chain.
Portbase operates as both an IT company and a logistics service provider – a unique combination that makes us strong. We understand the port ecosystem, its players, and their interests. We bring parties together, establish data‑sharing agreements, and co‑create solutions that make Dutch ports and their supply chains more efficient, secure, and competitive.
By processing more than 140 million transactions annually across 40 digital services, we enable the entire port community – from shipping companies to customs officers – to operate more efficiently and reliably.
For more than 21 years, Portbase has been a driving force in the digitalisation of Dutch port logistics. What began as a mission to eliminate paperwork has grown into one of the world’s most advanced Port Community Systems, connecting all players across the maritime logistics chain.
Looking ahead, we continue to lead the way in developing chain‑wide digital solutions that make port operations simpler, smarter, and more secure. If there is one thing we’ve learned over the years, it’s that we never stand still. The port community is always on the move – and so are we.
