Job summary

International School Hilversum (ISH) is seeking an English teacher to stimulate students\' creativity and curiosity within the IB framework. You will join a diverse English Department and design curricula with your colleagues.

We value involvement beyond teaching, including mentoring, Duke of Edinburgh, and student clubs. Candidates should have a recognised teaching qualification and a Masters in English or related field, with experience in secondary education and MYP English.

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised teaching qualification recognized by DUO.
• Verified teaching qualification with national recognition is required.
• Masters degree in English or related field is required.
• Experience teaching English at secondary school is expected.
• Experience teaching MYP English courses is preferred.
• Resident in the Netherlands with a valid work visa or NL passport.

Responsibilities

• Teach English to students across different year groups within the IB Diploma Programme.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design the curriculum.
• Get involved in school life beyond lessons (mentoring, Duke of Edinburgh, clubs, etc.).

Job description

We are looking for a teacher of English who want to stimulate student's creativity and natural curiosity. Join our English Department of writers, poets, readers, singers, actors, musicians from different English speaking backgrounds. International School Hilversum (ISH) is a warm and friendly school where we create a home away from home for expats and repats from all over the world.

You will join the English Department and teach students from different year groups in the International Baccalaureate Programme.
You are responsible, with your colleagues, for designing the curriculum.
The team is experienced and well established and you will receive guidance and support.
We are particularly interested in candidates that want to join the school and get involved for example as a mentor, the Duke of Edinburgh International award, student clubs and more.

Candidate profile

• You have a recognised (DUO bevoegd) teaching qualification.
• You have a masters degree in English or related field.
• You have experience in teaching English at secondary school.
• You have experience with teaching MYP English courses.
• You have a multidisciplinary interest(s) and would be keen to get involved in school life beyond just your lessons.
• You live in the Netherlands and have a work visa or European/NL passport.
