Job summary

Channable is seeking a Team Lead for the Infra Platform Group in Utrecht. You will architect and deliver foundational services in Haskell and Rust, while mentoring a four-person team and collaborating with other engineering groups.

You will split time between leadership and hands-on development, guiding roadmaps, hiring, and process improvements. The role requires strong backend FP experience, plus willingness to learn Haskell if needed.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an engineering team or as a senior engineer stepping into leadership.
• Ability to perform detailed code reviews from high- to low-level perspectives.
• Technical depth to help teammates grow and remove roadblocks.
• Substantial backend development experience with FP concepts; comfortable with Haskell, Scala or Rust; Python a plus.
• Familiar with PostgreSQL, Linux and Git; experience with web development and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Infra Platform Group team and set priorities.
• Mentor engineers, conduct semi-annual performance reviews.
• Design and deliver scalable services; drive architecture improvements.
• Hire new team members and shape processes and culture.
• Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders; align plans with OKRs.
• Review PRs, break down big projects into manageable tasks, write clear issues.
• Coordinate with product engineering and DevOps on requirements.
