Job summary

Dow Jones Eco-Movement in Utrecht is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to design, test, and enhance our global location data platform for EV charging, with a focus on the OCPI-based API.

You will help transition backend services from PHP to Go, strengthen data integrity and security, and own critical components while collaborating with the Locations team in a hybrid setup (3 days in office, 2 from home) near Utrecht Central Station.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on Go or PHP (Laravel) development (2+ years).
• Strong experience with core stack: GCP, MySQL/Postgres, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Experience with testing and maintainable code.

Responsibilities

• Rebuild critical components and transition backend services from PHP to Go.
• Upgrade and optimize internal tools, improve data validation workflows, and deliver maintainable code.
• Identify opportunities to improve product, architecture, and roadmap with the product manager.
