Job summary

Fortanix is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Backend to design, implement, and scale backend services behind our Key Insight product. You’ll own features from concept through production, integrating with cloud providers, enterprise systems, and certificate management tools.

Strong Rust experience is valued; experience with C++ or Go is welcomed. You’ll collaborate with a globally distributed team, drive architectural decisions, and ensure performance and security at scale while delivering

Qualifications

8+ years of backend development experience.
Production Rust experience preferred.
Experience building production-grade microservices.
Experience with cloud platforms and APIs.

Responsibilities

Own backend features from the initial product requirement through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
Translate research into a technical design, identify architectural changes, break work into executable pieces, implement the solution.
Design and build backend services in Rust, including REST APIs, data models, databases, and service-to-service integrations.
Build integrations with cloud and enterprise platforms, researching APIs, SDKs, services and technologies when necessary.
Own technical design for new capabilities with focus on architecture, scalability, performance, reliability and maintainability.
