Job summary

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with leadership of engineering teams.
• Strong Java/Spring Boot background and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD and event-driven systems.
• Proficiency with modern cloud platforms and messaging systems.
• Experience with Kotlin and front-end frameworks is a plus.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; aligned with business goals.
• Bachelor's degree (HBO/WO) or equivalent; fluent in English; Netherlands-based.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, scalability, reliability, and performance of backend systems.
• Coach and develop Backend and SRE Engineers; foster high-performing culture.
• Drive incident management, complex investigations, and technical problem solving.
• Align initiatives with business objectives; liaise with product, design, and ops.
• Coordinate priorities, resources, and delivery while keeping transparency on progress.
• Improve processes and tooling to boost efficiency, quality, and speed.
