Job summary

Airwallex is seeking a Manager, People Operations, EMEA to own core employee lifecycle processes across the region, ensuring compliance and accurate data while partnering with Payroll, Legal and Talent teams.

You will drive regional SOPs, automate workflows, and implement new systems to scale our people operations; a hands-on leader able to operate at both detail and regional levels will thrive.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in People Operations or related HR role in fast-growing tech.
• Strong knowledge of onboarding, offboarding, payroll inputs, benefits, HRIS and data management.
• Experience supporting multiple EMEA countries and local employment requirements.
• Familiarity with payroll processes, including variable compensation.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, able to manage high-volume ops without sacrificing quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience using AI to drive improvements is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead regional People Operations and end-to-end lifecycle for an EMEA footprint (~400 employees).
• Codify SOPs, manage JIRA helpdesk queue, set global-aligned workflows.
• Collaborate with Payroll, IT, Compliance on transactions, audits, invoicing, and change control.
• Run data audits, ensure data integrity, governance and reporting.
• Roll out benefits across EMEA markets in coordination with stakeholders and providers.
• Handle employment changes, leave, visa processes, and country-specific matters.
• Work with Legal to ensure compliance with local requirements.
• Identify inefficiencies and drive automation and AI-powered improvements.
• Support regional/global People projects and system implementations.
• Manage workload distribution and foster a collaborative team environment.
