Job summary

Innovate Eindhoven-based manufacturing client seeks an Equipment Electrical Engineer to own electrical installations, production equipment and plant utilities during installation, commissioning and scale-up phases.

You will work hands-on to solve complex technical problems, establish practical standards in a developing production environment, and collaborate with production and engineering teams to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Approximately five or more years in industrial, manufacturing or machine-building environments.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical installations and electrical safety.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and P&IDs; PLCs and automation systems.
• Dutch language skills are important for local installers and inspectors.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of electrical installations and compliance with Dutch regulations.
• Support installation, commissioning and start-up of production equipment.
• Improve reliability, uptime and performance of industrial equipment.
• Develop preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.

Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, an innovative manufacturing organisation developing a new production facility in Eindhoven. They are seeking an experienced Equipment Electrical Engineer to take ownership of electrical installations, production equipment and plant utilities during an important installation, commissioning and scale-up phase.

This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who enjoys working close to equipment, solving complex technical problems and establishing practical standards in a developing production environment.

The role

You will support the installation and commissioning of new production equipment while helping to improve the reliability, uptime and performance of existing systems.

Your responsibilities will span electrical compliance, equipment reliability, maintenance strategy, utilities, contractor management and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of electrical installations and compliance with applicable Dutch regulations, including NEN 3140 and Scope 8.
• Support the installation, commissioning and start-up of production equipment.
• Improve the reliability, uptime and performance of industrial equipment.
• Develop preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.
• Establish a critical-spares strategy and support equipment lifecycle planning.
• Troubleshoot electrical, automation and equipment-related issues.
• Work with production and engineering teams to deliver continuous improvements.
• Manage contractors, suppliers and maintenance-related activities.
• Support plant utilities, including HVAC, compressed air and process gases.
• Provide technical input into future equipment, installation and factory projects.
• Help establish reliable and maintainable standards as the facility moves towards full production.

Skills and experience required

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Approximately five or more years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing or machine-building environment.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical installations and electrical safety.
• Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance or reliability engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and P&IDs.
• Knowledge of PLCs and industrial automation systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical issues.
• Experience working with contractors, equipment suppliers and maintenance partners.
• Dutch language skills are important for working with local installers and inspectors.

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:

• Siemens or Pilz PLC systems.
• CE marking and ATEX requirements.
• CMMS or asset-management systems.
• FMEA, HAZOP or other engineering risk-assessment methods.
• Plant utilities, including HVAC, compressed air or process gases.

You do not need to meet every desirable requirement. The key priorities are solid electrical engineering experience, a practical approach to equipment and installations, and the ability to take ownership in a developing manufacturing environment.
