Due to the expansion of our activities, we are looking for a Duty Manager.
In the role of Duty Manager, you are ultimately responsible during your shift for the safe, efficient and timely handling of import and export cargo. You maintain oversight of the operation, lead the team and ensure that everything on the work floor runs according to plan. You are visibly present, able to switch quickly and make decisions when the situation requires it.
You coordinate the daily activities in the warehouses and monitor the progress of import, export and any transit processes. In doing so, you continuously coordinate with internal departments such as planning, airside operations and security, as well as with external parties including airlines, freight forwarders and customs authorities. When disruptions or changes in planning occur, you intervene immediately and ensure an appropriate solution without losing sight of safety or quality.
You are also responsible for deploying, managing and guiding the team during the shift. You train new employees and guide them towards becoming all-round operational staff. Even during peak periods, you create clarity and stability for the team.
Safety and quality are central to your work. You ensure the correct use of equipment, compliance with procedures and regulations, and you address employees on behaviour and performance when needed. You provide a proper shift handover and record details, incidents and operational performance. With your operational experience, you actively contribute to improving processes, collaboration and performance. You are available to work rotating shifts due to our 24-hour operational schedule.
