Job summary

JD Ross Energy is seeking a Project Developer to lead the development of large-scale solar PV and battery storage projects across the Netherlands. You will drive origination, permitting, stakeholder engagement and grid connection assessment, coordinating with cross-functional teams to move projects toward ready-to-build status.

The role requires a strong commercial mindset, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects autonomously.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Sciences, Real Estate, Planning, Economics or a related field.
Proven renewable energy project development experience for utility-scale solar PV and/or battery storage.
Good understanding of planning processes, permitting pathways and grid connection procedures.
Commercial mindset with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work autonomously.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Entrepreneurial, proactive and solution-oriented approach.
Familiarity with GIS tools and Microsoft Office applications.
Fluent Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly throughout the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of large-scale ground-mounted solar PV and battery storage projects from origination through to ready-to-build stage.
Establish and manage relationships with landowners, municipalities, local energy cooperatives, network operators, consultants and suppliers.
Identify suitable project opportunities and assess grid connection potential and power offtake capacity.
Coordinate planning and permitting activities with spatial planners and external advisors.
Secure permits, planning approvals and all required authorisations for project development and future construction.
Drive community engagement initiatives and maintain positive relationships with local stakeholders.
Collaborate with technical, financial and commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare and submit applications for subsidies and incentive schemes.
Support the acquisition of projects at various stages of development.
Participate in industry events and maintain a strong network within the Dutch renewable energy market.
Monitor regulatory, political and market developments in the Netherlands and Europe.
Prepare development budgets, project schedules and regular progress reports for senior management.
