Job summary

DeWarmte is seeking a Backend Developer to build and improve the Django platform behind our web application, customer app and employee app. It connects these products with our heat pumps, data platform and external partners.

You will design, develop and deploy APIs, services and business logic, focusing on reliability, performance and security while scaling for a growing customer base. We embrace AI-assisted coding and maintain high standards for production code, testing, and observability.

Qualifications

• Solid hands-on backend engineering experience with production systems.
• Deep Python and Django expertise, including Django ORM and REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and data modelling.
• Experience with background processing, queues or event streaming, and external integrations.
• Proven track record from design to deployment in real-world operations.
• Solid fundamentals: version control, automated testing, CI/CD, observability and incident handling.
• Experience using AI coding tools and evaluating their value and limits.
