Job summary

PwC is seeking a Backend Developer to build and improve data-heavy digital products, including AI/agentic solutions. You’ll work in a hybrid setup from Amsterdam and Utrecht, delivering end-to-end features and collaborating with diverse tech teams.

You’ll implement backend services with Python (Django/FastAPI), write tests, participate in CI/CD, and ensure code quality while aligning with business goals and user needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Strong knowledge of Python, with experience in Django and/or FastAPI
• Solid understanding of backend development, REST APIs, and SQL databases
• Experience with AI, LLMs, or agentic solutions
• Experience with unit and integration testing
• Familiarity with Git, pull requests and code reviews
• Experience with Docker and containerized environments
• Experience mentoring or advising peers on development practices
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Knowledge of security best practices and development standards
• Ability to independently deliver features from designs

Responsibilities

• Develop backend functionality for innovation products using Python (Django/FastAPI)
• Translate designs and stories into working software
• Deliver features end-to-end with testing and deployment support
• Build and maintain APIs, integrations, and backend services
• Integrate frontend components with backend data services
• Write clean, secure, scalable code and perform unit tests
• Participate in peer reviews and maintain code quality
• Assist with troubleshooting, bug fixes and performance improvements
• Identify risks, dependencies and improvement opportunities
• Contribute to CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Document technical decisions and implementation details
• Collaborate with Product Owner, BA/Designer, Tester and Tech Lead
