Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a District Manager based in Netherlands.

This is a senior retail leadership opportunity overseeing a portfolio of stores across multiple well-known lifestyle brands. You will be responsible for driving commercial performance, operational excellence, and exceptional customer experiences across your district. The role combines strategic performance management with hands‑on coaching, store visits, talent development, and execution. You will use data and business insights to identify opportunities, address underperformance, and translate priorities into clear actions for Store Managers. You will also act as a key link between field teams and central functions, ensuring brand strategies and initiatives are executed consistently. With extensive travel across the assigned territory, this role is ideal for an experienced retail leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, people‑focused, and results‑driven environment.

Accountabilities
  • Lead and coach Store Managers across the district to achieve sales, profitability, productivity, and KPI objectives.
  • Analyze commercial and operational performance, identify risks and opportunities, and implement focused action plans to improve results.
  • Translate performance data into practical insights and clear actions, connecting business results with in‑store behaviors and customer experience.
  • Conduct structured store visits focused on coaching, performance assessment, operational execution, and adherence to retail standards.
  • Develop and lead performance recovery plans for underperforming stores, providing hands‑on support until sustainable improvement is achieved.
  • Champion brand identity and ensure strong execution of visual merchandising, product storytelling, customer experience, and brand standards.
  • Lead new store openings and support the recruitment and onboarding of store talent.
  • Foster an inclusive, people‑first culture centered on teamwork, accountability, engagement, and continuous development.
  • Ensure marketing campaigns, brand initiatives, processes, and commercial priorities are implemented consistently and on time across the district.
  • Monitor customer experience metrics and implement improvement plans to strengthen service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Act as the voice of store teams with central and headquarters functions, sharing field insights and supporting the execution of broader retail strategies.
  • Communicate priorities, process changes, expectations, and performance objectives clearly to Store Managers.
  • Collaborate closely with HR, Health & Safety, Asset Protection, and other support functions to maintain strong operational standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the district while balancing commercial priorities, people development, and operational excellence.
Requirements
  • Solid and consistent management experience in a comparable District Manager, Area Manager, Regional Manager, or multi‑store retail leadership position.
  • Proven experience managing multiple stores simultaneously and delivering strong commercial and operational results.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve store performance through structured coaching, performance management, and action planning.
  • Strong people leadership skills, with a track record of coaching, developing, motivating, and engaging Store Managers and wider retail teams.
  • Data‑driven approach with strong business acumen and the ability to turn KPIs and performance trends into actionable decisions.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple locations, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment characterized by complexity, ambiguity, and changing priorities.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, flexibility, and resilience.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with store teams and central stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, approximately 80% or more, including air travel and overnight stays.
  • Fluent German and English communication skills.
  • Residence within the assigned area or the ability to operate effectively across the relevant territory.
Benefits
  • Annual salary range of €66,528–€83,160, depending on experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors.
  • Eligibility for additional compensation through an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission opportunity, with details shared during the recruitment process.
  • 50% employee discount across the portfolio of brands.
  • 30 days of annual leave, plus an additional day off for your birthday.
  • Ownership and support of your career development, with opportunities to build experience across multiple international brands.
  • Tailored training and development programs, including online and in‑person learning opportunities.
  • Supportive, feedback‑driven culture built around respect, integrity, inclusion, and collaboration.
  • Opportunities to connect and build relationships with Store Managers and colleagues across Europe.
  • Participation in an Employee Referral Program.
  • Opportunity to work within a diverse and inclusive environment that values different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.
