Distribution Development Engineer in our Venlo’s office
What you’ll do
- Develop high-level business cases to present projects to senior leadership and secure operational and financial support for your proposals;
- Lead projects from analysis through go-live, including handover to the relevant operational department;
- Support the transition from project mode to BAU (Business as Usual);
- Update work instructions, process flows, warehouse layouts, and general documentation;
- Liaise regularly with the project sponsor on priorities, planning, budget, resources, and workload across scheduled projects;
- Manage the execution of project plans and deliver against defined milestones;
- Act as both project lead and hands-on contributor, supporting the team in execution while driving projects forward;
- Partner with IT on project execution;
- Review project results and benefits, validate assumptions, and reassess outcomes as part of the project evaluation process;
- Track CPU changes and validate whether the projected cost savings are effectively achieved post-implementation;
- Apply proven Lean and continuous improvement methodologies to ensure analyses are fact-based;
- Support the organization’s Lean journey and continuous improvement maturity through 6S standardization, audit programs and ambassador training.
You’ll Need to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, or a related field;
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required;
- Demonstrated experience in engineering, project management, and process planning;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio;
- Solid understanding of supply chain, transport, warehousing, and operations;
- Strong process improvement and continuous improvement skills;
- Creative, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to think outside the box;
- Experience in management and/or operational consulting;
- Experience leading major supply chain transformation initiatives and/or warehouse optimization projects across processes, IT, MHE, and workforce management.
We’d Love to See:
- Experience in retail, e-commerce, or fashion;
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to set priorities;
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in teams;
- PRINCE2 or an equivalent project management qualification;
- Lean and Six Sigma experience is considered a plus;
- Knowledge of AI applications in supply chain, logistics or process improvement is considered a plus;
- Operational or logistics background.

Salary range: 45,000-65,000 Euro
