Job summary

Shuter Smith International in the Rotterdam/Den Haag area seeks a skilled Process Engineer to support strategic engineering initiatives across Europe. You will drive improvements in logistics and operational infrastructure, aligning with IT and ERP initiatives and leading cross-border projects.

The role requires 5–8 years in process engineering or related fields, strong project management, and willingness to travel up to 50% across EU locations.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in process engineering, operations, or technical project management.
• Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Experience in IT- or scanning-driven projects and understanding project methodologies such as Prince2, Agile, Scrum, DevOps.
• Analytical mindset with a continuous improvement focus.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across EU locations.

Responsibilities

• Execute projects within set budget and time according to local legislation.
• Identify organizational and user needs for technical installations and products.
• Propose solutions to improve quality and efficiency of installations, products and logistics processes.
• Advise the Overall Project Manager with technical knowledge on maintenance of installations and products.
• Support on-site implementation and transfer to Operations.
• Ensure alignment with IT landscape and ERP implementations.
• Research suppliers for engineering projects to ensure wide options across locations.
• Analyze and improve processes in depots and supply chain to achieve operational excellence.
• Lay the base for continuous process improvement with measurable results.
• Support design and improvement of processes and systems using Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and OEE.
• Analyze operational and administrative processes and propose improvements.
• Meet cost reduction objectives while maintaining service levels.
• Develop and maintain an international KPI structure for operational excellence.
• Benchmark and share best practices across the organization.
• Resolve key process challenges.

Job description

For a market leading business in the Rotterdam/Hague area, we’re looking for a highly skilled Process Engineer. In this role, you will support strategic engineering initiatives across Europe, supporting both new technical installations and ongoing improvements within the logistics and operational infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute the project within the set budget and time according to the local legislation.
• Inventorize the needs of the organization and users for technical installations and
• products.
• Propose solutions that will contribute to quality and efficiency of the technical installations, products and logistic processes within the depots.
• Advise the Overall Project Manager with technical knowledge on maintenance of technical installations and products.
• Support the implementation on site of the solution until project is transferred to Operations
• Ensure the alignment with the actual and future IT landscape and new ERP implementation
• Continuous new suppliers research for engineering and development projects to ensure wide option choices depending on the different project location and characteristics
• Analyze and improve processes in the depots and overall supply chain in order to create operational excellence via Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
• Lay the base for continuous process improvement with clear focus and measurable results.
• Support the design and improvement of processes and systems using different Methodologies (Lean, 6 Sigma, 5S, OEE)
• Analyze operational and administrative processes and make proposals for improvement.
• Fulfill cost reduction objectives by implementing defined activities while maintaining service levels
• Develop and maintain an international KPI structure in order to develop operational excellence
• Perform regular benchmarking and identify best practices to be shared across the organization
• Resolve key process challenges

YOUR PROFILE

• 5–8 years’ experience in process engineering, operations, or technical project management
• Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills
• Experience in IT- or scanning-driven projects and understanding of project methodologies such as Prince2, Agile, Scrum, DevOps
• Analytical mindset with a continuous improvement focus
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across EU locations
