We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and inspiring Director of Housekeeping to lead the housekeeping operations of our luxury hotel. This executive-level role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest comfort across all guest rooms, suites, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces.
The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a passion for hospitality excellence, strong operational expertise, and a proven ability to motivate and develop high‑performing teams.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy
- Lead, mentor, and develop the housekeeping management team and staff.
- Establish departmental goals aligned with the hotel’s overall strategic vision.
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and service‑driven work environment.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry, and uniform rooms.
- Ensure compliance with luxury brand standards.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure superior quality standards.
- Collaborate with Front Office, Engineering, and Food & Beverage to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Develop and manage departmental budgets.
- Monitor labor productivity, inventory control, and supply costs.
- Optimize staffing schedules based on occupancy forecasts.
- Implement cost‑control initiatives without compromising quality.
Guest Experience
- Address guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure VIP and special‑request rooms meet and exceed expectations.
- Monitor guest satisfaction scores and implement improvement plans as needed.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Maintain proper handling and storage of chemicals and cleaning equipment.
- Lead sustainability initiatives and environmentally responsible practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive housekeeping leadership experience in a luxury or upscale hotel environment.
- Previous experience as Assistant Director of Housekeeping or Director of Housekeeping preferred.
- Strong knowledge of luxury service standards and quality assurance processes.
- Proven experience managing large teams (40+ employees preferred).
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in hotel management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
