Job description

Join MSIG Specialty Marine and help shape our digital workplace

At MSIG Specialty Marine, technology plays an important role in how our people connect, collaborate and work effectively.

We are looking for a Digital Workplace Engineer to join our IT team in Rotterdam and help deliver a secure, reliable and seamless technology experience for colleagues across the organisation.

This is a hands‑on, business‑facing role for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a genuine focus on customer service. You will work across modern Microsoft technologies, support colleagues with day‑to‑day challenges and help continuously improve the way our people interact with workplace technology.

Working with Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, Windows 365, endpoint technologies and collaboration tools, you will play an important role in helping our colleagues work productively and securely, wherever they are.

The Role

As our Digital Workplace Engineer, you will be a key point of contact between IT and the business, providing both onsite and remote support while helping to develop and improve our modern workplace environment.

You will take ownership of technical issues from initial diagnosis through to resolution, support the full lifecycle of workplace devices and services, and work closely with colleagues across IT, external partners and business stakeholders.

Alongside day‑to‑day support, you will also contribute to technology rollouts, service improvements, automation opportunities and the continued development of our digital employee experience.

What you’ll be doing

Supporting our colleagues

  • Provide high-quality onsite and remote support for workplace technology incidents and service requests.
  • Act as a trusted IT contact for users, including senior and business-critical stakeholders.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system and application issues.
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.
  • Take ownership of issues through to resolution and keep users informed throughout.

Managing devices and endpoints

  • Deploy, configure and maintain Windows 11 devices and workplace technologies.
  • Support Microsoft Intune-managed endpoints and Windows Autopilot deployments.
  • Manage device onboarding, refresh, replacement and retirement.
  • Maintain endpoint security, compliance and configuration standards.
  • Support accurate asset and inventory management.

Supporting Microsoft 365 and collaboration

  • Support Microsoft Teams, collaboration services and meeting-room technologies.
  • Assist with user provisioning, access requests and licence administration.
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 productivity and collaboration services.
  • Support the rollout and adoption of new Microsoft 365 features and workplace technologies.

Supporting the employee lifecycle

  • Deliver a smooth technology onboarding experience for new colleagues.
  • Prepare and deploy laptops, devices and workplace equipment.
  • Support internal moves and role changes.
  • Ensure leavers are processed securely and in line with asset-management procedures.
  • Support meeting rooms, audiovisual equipment and hybrid collaboration technologies.
  • Troubleshoot issues affecting meetings and presentations.
  • Carry out routine checks to keep workplace technology running effectively.
  • Coordinate with technology vendors and support partners where required.

Security and continuous improvement

  • Support endpoint compliance, vulnerability remediation and workplace security initiatives.
  • Follow and help maintain security, operational and service-management standards.
  • Identify recurring issues and help develop longer-term solutions.
  • Analyse service trends and identify opportunities for automation and optimisation.
  • Support technology pilots, testing and deployment activities.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, user guidance and knowledge articles.
What we’re looking for

You will ideally have 3–5 years’ experience within Digital Workplace, End User Computing, Desktop Support, Workplace Technology or a similar IT support environment.

We are looking for someone who enjoys being close to the business, takes ownership of problems and combines strong technical knowledge with a genuine focus on delivering a great user experience.

You will ideally bring experience with:

  • Windows 11 support within an enterprise environment.
  • Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.
  • Microsoft Intune and modern endpoint management.
  • Windows Autopilot and device provisioning.
  • Microsoft Entra ID, including users, groups and device management.
  • Windows 365 Cloud PCs or similar cloud‑managed workplace technologies.
  • Endpoint security, compliance, patching and configuration standards.
  • Meeting-room, audiovisual and hybrid collaboration technologies.
  • Device lifecycle and IT asset management.
  • Joiner, Mover and Leaver technology processes.
  • ITSM platforms and ITIL‑aligned Incident, Request, Problem, Change and Knowledge Management processes.
  • Supporting users across multiple locations or hybrid working environments.
  • Working with managed service providers, vendors and external technology partners.
What will help you succeed

You are likely to thrive in this role if you are:

  • Customer-focused – you enjoy helping people and take ownership through to resolution.
  • Technically curious – you enjoy troubleshooting, understanding root causes and finding better solutions.
  • A confident communicator – you can explain technical topics clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Proactive – you look for opportunities to improve services rather than simply resolving the immediate issue.
  • Organised and dependable – you can manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Collaborative – you enjoy working with colleagues, stakeholders and external partners.
  • Calm under pressure – you can prioritise effectively when dealing with urgent or business‑critical issues.
Nice to have

Experience or knowledge in any of the following would be an advantage:

  • Advanced Microsoft Intune administration.
  • PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Microsoft Graph API.
  • Conditional Access and Entra ID governance.
  • Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Endpoint analytics and reporting.
  • Enterprise application packaging and deployment.
  • Version control and structured management of automation scripts.
  • Cloud‑first or Zero Trust environments.

Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 certifications or ITIL Foundation would also be welcomed.

Language Requirements

  • Dutch: Fluent or near-native proficiency.
  • English: Advanced professional proficiency.
