Job summary

Picnic in Hilversum is seeking a Design Coordinator to act as the central hub between product and packaging teams. You will manage packaging processes for thousands of private-label items, ensuring timely launches and smooth transitions.

You will coordinate with category managers, suppliers, and design teams, maintaining visual standards and regulatory compliance while upholding strict deadlines.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in project management or coordination.
• Natural ability to connect different teams and processes.
• Highly structured and comfortable with many moving parts and deadlines.
• Assertive when agreements are not followed.
• Excellent communicator with organizational skills and a proactive mindset.
• Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cross-team collaboration with category managers, design team, and suppliers to ensure seamless packaging switches.
• Dynamic planning of design capacity based on upcoming launches and urgency shifts.
• Quality & compliance control to ensure changes follow packaging laws and regulations.
• Maintain visual excellence, ensuring final artwork meets high standards and brand alignment.
• Hold stakeholders accountable for deadlines and complete project documentation.
• Provide transparent communication on timings, planning, and deadlines to all parties.

Tricks of the trade

As a Design Coordinator, you are at the heart of our private label packaging process. Your mission is to keep the engine running smoothly. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Cross-team collaboration: Work closely together with category managers, the design team, and suppliers to ensure seamless switches of packaging.
• Dynamic planning: Plan design capacity based on upcoming product launches and dare to adjust planning based on shifting urgency.
• Quality & compliance control: Help check the designs to ensure all changes are correctly applied and strictly adhere to relevant packaging laws and regulations.
• Visual excellence: Maintain a sharp eye for packaging aesthetics, ensuring all final artwork meets high visual standards while remaining brand-aligned.
• Fierce accountability: Dare to challenge stakeholders if they are not keeping to their deadlines or not providing complete documentation to start projects.
• Transparent communication: Ensure all stakeholders are kept up to date on timings, planning, and deadlines at all times.

Your superpowers

• You have at least 2 years of experience, preferably in a project management or coordination role.
• You are a natural spider in the web, easily connecting different teams and processes.
• You are super structured and thrive in environments with many moving parts and strict deadlines.
• You can stand your ground and confidently challenge people when they are not sticking to agreements.
• You are a great communicator who combines organizational skills with a proactive, “get-it-done” mindset.
• You are fluent in English; fluency in Dutch is highly preferred.
