Job description

Data Analyst: Build the Data Model Behind a Growing Data Platform

Amsterdam, Netherlands (Hybrid)

Fast-Growing Data & Technology Company

What if the data models you built weren't just used for one report...

but became part of a central platform used by thousands of businesses to make better decisions every day?

I'm working with a fast-growing technology company that's building a data intelligence platform for the hospitality industry. Their platform brings together data from systems including POS, workforce planning, reservations, purchasing, accounting and customer reviews, transforming it into a centralised data model that customers can use directly for reporting and decision-making.

As the company continues to grow its platform and enterprise customer base, they're looking for a Data Analyst who wants to take ownership of how new data is structured, modelled and integrated into the platform.

This isn't a traditional Data Analyst role focused primarily on dashboards and reporting.

You'll be responsible for making the data modelling decisions behind the platform; deciding how new sources should fit into the existing model, what the right grain of a dataset should be, when to extend an existing table and when to introduce something new.

You'll also work directly with data teams at larger customers, translating their requirements into scalable solutions and taking ownership of projects from end to end.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys SQL, data modelling and solving complex data problems and wants to see their work become part of a product used across a growing customer base.

What the successful Data Analyst will need:
  • 3+ years of commercial SQL experience as a Data Analyst or similar, working within a development team and contributing to a shared code repository.
  • Strong experience with data modelling, including dimensional modelling, fact table grain and designing scalable data structures.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with Git and version-controlled development.
  • Experience working directly with clients or external stakeholders, ideally including technical or data teams.
  • Working knowledge of a BI tool, ideally Power BI.
  • Experience with cloud data technologies such as Azure and/or Databricks.
  • Professional fluency in Dutch.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree.
What's on offer for the successful Data Analyst:
  • Hybrid working from a collaborative Amsterdam-based office.
  • The opportunity to work on a data platform where the models you build can be used across the company's entire customer base.
  • Genuine ownership over data modelling and platform development, rather than simply producing one-off reports.
  • Direct exposure to sophisticated enterprise customers and their data teams.
  • The opportunity to take ownership of enterprise data projects from requirements through to implementation.
  • A young, ambitious team working at the intersection of data, technology and hospitality.
  • Exposure to modern data technologies and a strong development environment where code quality and modelling standards are taken seriously.

If you're a Data Analyst who enjoys building the data model behind the analytics, rather than simply building the dashboard on top of it, I'd love to tell you more about this opportunity.

Send me a message or email your CV, and I'd be happy to share the full details.
