Job summary

ING Nederland is seeking an IT Chapter Lead to directly manage 10–12 data engineers, guiding cloud-native data platforms and the Finance & Risk FRIDA architecture. You will lead onboarding of source systems, ensure data contracts and governance, and balance run and change with a clear eye on IT risk.

You’ll be part of ING’s leadership team, championing innovation, craftsmanship and lifelong learning while keeping business needs in focus.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large data engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native data platforms and architecture.
• Familiarity with Finance and Risk data capabilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manages engineers leads hierarchically including recruitment.
• Acts as technical leader in cloud-native data platforms and lakehouse architectures.
• Drives onboarding and integration of multiple source systems into FRIDA architecture.
• Balances Run and Change with focus on IT Risk.
• Oversees end-to-end data onboarding lifecycle from source to deployment.
• Promotes reuse of ingestion patterns and canonical data models.
• Makes teams and others dependent on him successful.
• Sets example for life-long learning.
• Encourages chapter investment in innovation.
• Values engineering craftsmanship.
• Reason from business needs to software solutions.
