Job summary

ING is seeking an IT Chapter Lead to guide 10–12 data engineers working on ING’s FRIDA data architecture, including ingestion, datamodels, engines, and data platforms. You will lead, coach, and balance Run/Change while aligning with IT risk and enterprise goals.

You will partner with Domain Architects and contribute to shaping area vision, resourcing, and continuous improvement across the tribe and squads; the role requires deep data engineering background and a passion for mentoring others.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience as a data engineer.
• Experience building data warehouses or equivalent data-intensive applications.
• Familiarity with integrating multiple applications with consistent world views for FRIDA.
• Experience coaching other engineers on craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineers leads hierarchically including recruitment.
• Coach engineering leads on a daily basis.
• Balance Run and Change with IT Risk focus.
• Contribute to FRIDA development processes (requirements, design, build, deploy, operate).
• Enable teams to be successful and socialise best practices.
• Promote life-long learning and innovation within the chapter.
• Demonstrate engineering craftsmanship and translate business needs into software solutions.
