Job summary

Groupe SII in the Netherlands is seeking a Certification Engineer to join the aircraft modification team, supporting design and certification activities throughout the lifecycle. You will ensure modifications comply with airworthiness regulations and contribute to innovative, efficient solutions.

The role requires an engineering degree in Aerospace or Mechanical (HBO level or higher), at least 2 years in aerospace, and strong communication and stakeholder management skills in an international

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in Aerospace or Mechanical (HBO level or higher).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in aerospace engineering.
  • Experience in certification and/or aircraft modifications.
  • Knowledge of cabin safety requirements is a plus.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; English fluency.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret customer requirements.
  • Define and review aircraft modifications (structures, interiors, and electrical design).
  • Conduct feasibility studies and optimize existing systems.
  • Participate in design reviews and interface coordination.
  • Prepare and review certification documentation (change classification, compliance demonstration, flammability).
  • Support testing activities and evaluate results.
  • Ensure compliance with EASA certification requirements.

Are you looking to work on high-impact aerospace projects in an international context?

We are currently looking for a Certification Engineer to strengthen our aircraft modification projects team.

Your Role

As a Certification Engineer, you will be part of our aircraft modification team, supporting the full lifecycle of design and certification activities.

You will ensure that all modifications comply with airworthiness regulations, while contributing to innovative and efficient technical solutions.

What You’ll Do
  • Analyze and interpret customer requirements
  • Define and review aircraft modifications, including: Metal and composite structures, Cabin interiors and cabin safety aspects and Support to electrical design aspects
  • Conduct feasibility studies and optimize existing systems
  • Participate in design reviews and interface coordination
  • Prepare and review technical and certification documentation, including Change classification, Compliance demonstration and Flammability assessment
  • Support testing activities and evaluate results
  • Ensure compliance with EASA certification requirements
  • Engineering degree (Aerospace, Mechanical, or equivalent – HBO level or higher)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in aerospace engineering
  • Experience in certification and/or aircraft modifications
  • Knowledge of cabin safety requirements is a strong plus
  • Good understanding of structures (metal/composite) and/or interiors / systems
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working in an international environment
  • Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)
  • Proactive, flexible, and solution-oriented
  • A good sense of humor
