Job summary

Dalata Hotel Group plc’s Clayton Hotel Amsterdam American is seeking a Breakfast Chef for Café Americain. Lead the breakfast service, oversee both cold and hot buffets, and craft à la minute egg dishes while maintaining high presentation standards.

You’ll collaborate with the kitchen team, drive menu development, ensure compliance with safety guidelines, and enjoy a set morning schedule that supports work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Culinary training – MBO Level 2 or higher (or equivalent experience)
• Hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment
• Solid knowledge of core cooking techniques, food safety standards, allergens, and food trends
• A natural sense of quality and presentation - you care about the details
• Strong organisation-and time management skills, especially during busy service
• A team player who communicates well and supports others
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays- with a set morning roster

Responsibilities

• Lead the breakfast service and operations with precision
• Prepare hot and cold dishes for the breakfast buffet according to recipes
• Plate à la carte breakfast dishes to high standards
• Conduct regular quality checks on flavour, texture, temperature, and presentation
• Oversee mise en place, prep, and storage with FIFO, HACCP and safety procedures
• Identify and flag shortages to keep kitchen operations running smoothly
• Collaborate with Sous and Head Chef on breakfast menu development
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety throughout the section and kitchen
