Job summary

SSR Personnel Ltd. is seeking a Bid Estimator for our Amsterdam-based team. You will manage detailed pricing and take-offs for security projects, from small adds to major bids, with site surveys and collaboration with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.

The role includes translating Dutch documents to English as needed, working closely with the sales team, and coordinating group-wide bid processes. Hybrid work is possible for candidates near Amsterdam.

Qualifications

Bid Estimator – Security Systems based from Amsterdam. On offer is a negotiable base salary of around c60,000 euros

A global provider of integrated security solutions is recruiting a BID Estimator to join the team in Amsterdamto manage detailed pricing and take-offs for security projects ranging from small adds and changes to major project bids. You will undertake site surveys, develop project briefs, and work closely with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to establish scope, pricing, and commercial terms. Ideally, we are looking for someone within commutable distance to our NL office in Amsterdam, with potential for hybrid. The candidate would need to speak English and be able to translate from Dutch to English as well as written documents.

The Role

• Conduct site surveys and interpret client requirements to develop accurate bids.


• Manage and improve standard processes for high-volume bidding.


• Complete detailed take-offs and measurements for all aspects of security projects.


• Obtain competitive pricing and commercial terms from global suppliers and subcontractors.


• Lead and coordinate formal bid and tender activities with the sales team.


• Participate in sales meetings to establish priorities and maintain bid momentum.


• Support and coordinate group-wide bid processes where required.


• Collaborate with teams across Asia to prepare bids for global customers.

Experience & Skills

• Experience with integrated electronic security systems, including CCTV, alarm systems, access control, etc.


• Proven experience within the electronic security industry.


• Experience pricing projects across international markets, particularly EMEA and APAC.


• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.


• Strong commercial and analytical acumen.


• Excellent communication, negotiation, organisation, and time-management skills.


• Strong team player with a proactive, collaborative, and go-getter attitude.
