Job summary

Alfen is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to develop and implement maintenance strategies for Battery Energy Storage Systems, aiming to improve availability and reduce downtime. You will translate field data into practical maintenance plans and work with Service, R&D, Supply Chain, and Quality to drive improvements.

The role requires 5+ years in a technical setting, strong planning and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a comparable technical field.
At least 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably within an international technical environment.
Knowledge of and experience in a technical environment.
Experience with MS Office and ERP systems, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills, with a proactive and decisive approach.
Good command of Dutch, English and/or German, both spoken and written.
VCA VOL certification, or an internationally recognized equivalent.
Knowledge of NEN 3840 and/or NEN 3141.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and continuously improve maintenance strategies for Alfen’s Battery Energy Storage Systems.
Define required maintenance activities, intervals, resource requirements, and supporting documentation.
Use operational and maintenance data to identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and availability.
Support the development of preventive and condition-based maintenance approaches.
Translate field experience into practical maintenance improvements.
Work closely with Service, R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, suppliers, and other stakeholders to achieve effective maintenance solutions.
