Job summary

Alfen is seeking a Senior Project Engineer ESS to translate customer needs into advanced electrical designs for modular energy storage projects. You will work with project managers, designers, production teams and customers to deliver safe, compliant and high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities span from sales proposals to installed and tested systems, including pre-sales input and site testing. The role demands leadership in electrical design and ongoing product improvements within BESS

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Energy Technology or comparable discipline.
In-depth knowledge of energy systems and experience analyzing and improving electrical drawings.
Experience with MS Office, PDM and ERP systems.
Ability to organize work systematically and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
Proactive, innovative mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
Good command of English; Dutch is a plus.
VCA VOL certificate, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

Translating customer requirements into electrical designs that are functionally robust.
Designing, reviewing and optimizing electrical schematics, drawings and BOMs.
Performing electrical calculations and ensuring compliance with national and international standards (IEC).
Coordinating with internal and external technical teams for alignment and project execution.
Supporting product, FAT and control system testing on site.
Providing technical input during pre-sales and after-sales phases.
Contributing to product improvements and standardisation within BESS solutions.
