Job summary

Vopak Netherlands, in partnership with Green Energy Storage B.V. (GES), is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead utility-scale BESS projects from ready-to-build through handover.

Based at our BESS headquarters in Breda, you will own safety, schedule, budget, and quality, coordinating with Tier-1 integrators, BoP contractors, grid operators, and investors. In this role you will manage large work packages, drive decisions, mitigate risks, and ensure on-time delivery within budget.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on project management experience in energy, infrastructure, construction, or industrial CapEx projects.
• Proven track record in multidisciplinary project delivery, including planning, cost control, risk management, and stakeholder management.
• Commercial and contractual awareness, with experience in contract management and in supporting tenders and contractor selection.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
• Fluent in English. Command of other languages are naturally a plus.
• Willingness to travel between sites, suppliers and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute the Project Management Plan with schedule milestones and progress tracking.
• Manage the project budget, forecasts, and commitments and handle change management.
• Coordinate interfaces between contractors, grid operator, and internal teams; identify risks and mitigate.
• Promote a strong safety culture on site and ensure compliance with HSE and quality requirements.
• Keep stakeholders informed through clear reporting on progress, risks, decisions, and results.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning and handover with complete as-built documentation and warranties.
