Job summary

Cognizant in Amsterdam seeks a Data & Power BI Engineer to design and deliver enterprise-grade reporting and analytics for complex financial services environments. You will translate business needs into scalable data products and build Azure Synapse-based solutions with Power BI visuals.

Collaborating with Product Owners and Analysts, you will ensure data quality across regulatory reporting and enterprise analytics, using SSRS, Tableau, and DAX in a dynamic banking tech setting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building data pipelines with Azure Data Factory, Synapse pipelines or Databricks.
• Databricks or Azure Synapse used in an actual project (PySpark, Delta Lake; SQL pools/pipelines).
• Strong expertise in SQL Server / T-SQL and ELT-based data transformation.
• Proven enterprise data modelling experience (Star / Snowflake designs).
• Extensive experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, DAX, and tabular models.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise data models forming the backbone of reporting solutions.
• Build and maintain Azure Synapse-based data solutions and ELT processes ensuring reliable data flow.
• Develop Power BI reports, dashboards, DAX calculations, and tabular models for business-critical environments.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts to translate reporting requirements into scalable data products.
• Maintain centralized reporting environments including SSRS and Tableau for data quality and consistency.
