Job summary

Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our Food & Drink team, overseeing Peacock Alley and Goldfinch Brasserie and delivering exceptional guest experiences across both venues.

You are a hands-on leader with strong floor presence, excellent communication, and a passion for luxury hospitality. Collaborating with the Venue Manager and departments, you will drive service excellence and team development while safeguarding operational standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory or management role within Food & Drink, preferably luxury hospitality.
• Hands-on leadership with a strong presence on the floor.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Ability to coach, motivate and develop a diverse team.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Commercial awareness of revenue, costs and labour management.
• Fluent English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Leading, motivating, coaching and developing the Food & Drink team.
• Overseeing the daily operations of Peacock Alley and Goldfinch Brasserie.
• Ensuring Waldorf Astoria service standards are consistently delivered.
• Creating memorable and personalised experiences for guests.
• Taking ownership of guest feedback and resolving challenges with care.
• Conducting daily briefings and ensuring clear communication across hotel departments.
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding, training and the ongoing development of Team Members.
• Preparing efficient schedules based on business levels and forecasts.
• Driving revenue through product knowledge and upselling while preserving guest experience.
• Supporting cost control, inventory management and overall profitability.
• Monitoring guest satisfaction and identifying opportunities to improve service.
